Each year the association and its members recognizes outstanding individuals for their contributions to the industry and to our communities.

Recognizing the Best of the Best

Melanie Becka, Spirit of Texas Bank

Brick & Mortar Award 2018 Recipient

Established in 2015 by GBVBA President John Magruder, this award is to recognize members who have given tirelessly for the benefit of the association through many years of continued and impactful service.  The first year GBVBA recognized 4 individuals: Steve Arden, Victor Drozd, Buck Prewitt and Charles Thomas. The following year Randy French and Celia Goode-Haddock were recognized. In 2017 Gene Joyce was given this award and in 2018 Melanie Becka was presented a Brick and Mortar Award.

 

Pam Cemino, KAGS TV

Outstanding Committee Member of the Year

Requests for nominations are made to current Committee Members to name up to three people on their committee who have served the group well.  The Committee member with the highest number of points compiled from all committees and all nominations will be awarded the title of the Outstanding Committee Member of the Year Award.

 

Brian Windham, Windham Construction & Sunspace Texas

Builder Member of the Year

Requests for nominations from the Board of Directors to give the name of one (1) Builder member in good standing who provides a high level of participation through event attendance, committee involvement and serving as a good ambassador for the association.  Industry accomplishments, civic involvement and professional conduct are also traits considered when preparing to nominate a member for this annual award.  The top three named nominees in each category are placed on a ballot sent to the entire GBVBA Membership to vote on.

 

Frank Clark, Jr. , City of Bryan

Associate Member of the Year

Requests for nominations from the Board of Directors to give the name of one (1)  Associate member in good standing who provides a high level of participation through event attendance, committee involvement and serving as a good ambassador for the association.  Industry accomplishments, civic involvement and professional conduct are also traits considered when preparing to nominate a member for this annual award.  The top three named nominees in each category are placed on a ballot to be sent to the entire GBVBA Membership to vote on.

 

The award winners are announced at the January Awards & Installation Ceremony.
